Plastic product material classification and application

Plastic products are daily necessities that we cannot live without every day. From telephones, faxes, computers, mobile phones, tableware, and even large and small bottles and jars, you didn’t come into contact with it that day, but you didn’t know it. What kind of material is used for processing? If the recycling of plastic resources is not classified, there is no way to recycle it again. This is a waste of resources and does not meet the requirements of modern people for environmental protection. Generally speaking, plastics are easy to recycle. Most of the materials are divided into 6 categories for consumers to identify and classify (it is definitely not the number of recycling or use ---Editor's note). The following are the classifications and characteristics of plastic materials for some daily products:

HDPE

Most plastic trays, milk jugs, juice bottles, detergent bottles, and toiletries containers are made of high-density polyethylene. The products made of HDPE by nine-foot plastic pallet manufacturers are generally opaque in color, but they are considered safe and have a low risk of leaching.

PVC

The plasticizers mentioned above are often added to PVC to improve the performance of plastic products, and may be used to make plastic boxes, food packaging, shower curtains, air mattresses, raincoats, ordinary pipes, etc. When choosing a toy for your child, check the toy label to ensure that the product does not contain PVC.

LDPE

Some food bags, plastic wrap, and squeezable soft bottles are such materials. The plastic itself is relatively safe, but the heat resistance is not strong. If the food is wrapped in plastic wrap and heated, it is easy to cause the harmful substances in the plastic wrap to separate out. Therefore, before heating the food in a microwave oven, the plastic wrap should be removed first.

PP

Common products that use polypropylene include yogurt cups, medicine bottles, ketchup bottles, kitchen utensils, and plastic containers labeled "microwave ovens."

It is considered "suitable for microwave ovens" because polypropylene has good heat resistance and is not easily curled when heated.

PS

Polystyrene is a colorless hard plastic and does not have much flexibility. This material is used for bowls of instant noodle boxes, fast food boxes, plastic spoons, and plastic forks. A lot of evidence shows that this type of plastic will release toxic chemicals, especially after heating. It takes hundreds of thousands of years to degrade, and it is extremely harmful to the environment.

others

Plastics other than the above 6 are all classified in this category. The risk of using this type of plastic is that you don't know what this type of plastic is. There are also blended materials, which should be carefully selected when used to hold food and beverages.
